Launching at KAMERS Summer 2014 Stellenbosch, we are proud to present the first KAMERS met Kuns: Huisie | Boompie | Stroompie.
An exhibition inspired by rural South African landscapes, small town charm and urban views, “crossing the bridge” between traditional and contemporary landscape art, curated by artist Alex Hamilton as a new brand extension for KAMERS.
KAMERS met Kuns aims to present the KAMERS audience with a creative, rich and unique cultural experience, adding fine art to the well established “new design” and craft products usually exhibited at these phenomenal events and adding a new dimension to the KAMERS experience.
A variety of established and emerging artists, all working with the common theme of landscape, but in diverse mediums and with alternative visions, will be exhibiting. The exhibition explores our surroundings, the relationship with our land and our collective view in a fresh and exciting way, by taking the humble traditional landscape, often depicting a house, tree and stream, and reinventing it as a contemporary and unexpected work of art.
The exhibition will also include an interactive social network presence via Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook with a “cyber exhibition” extending the reach to a distant and international audience. #HuisieBoompieStroompie #KAMERSmetKuns and #KAMERS2014 will be the collective branding and hyperlinks for this exhibition.
Exhibiting Artists include:
The exhibition will run from 4 to 9 November 2014 at the Webersburg Estate Wine Cellar as part of KAMERS Summer 2014 Stellenbosch.
