We are very excited to present our first guest post on the KAMERS blog! Nicola Pretorius, from The Pretty Blog, put together these three easy Christmas DIYs a while ago to make your festive season a pretty one. We wish we had a chance to share it sooner, but the hustle and bustle of KAMERS Irene was a bit much. Nonetheless, these are a special treat from The Pretty Blog to you. Thank you, Nicola, the floor is yours:
With the smell of summer in the air, the time has finally come to pack our winter clothes away, and to welcome the endless days of sunshine. For the most of us the December holidays are the highlight of the year- a time to blow off steam, to relax, rejuvenate and to spend time with our friends and family. Of course, this time centers around the festivities of Christmas. Every year we find ourselves trapped in the chaos of finding Christmas presents in time, to do the necessary planning for the much-anticipated Christmas dinner, and to plan everything with the intended attention to detail.
This year, we are going to try to set the record straight, with easy DIYs just in time for Christmas. Instead of making this a tedious and tiring task, there are a lot of fun and creative ways to introduce the theme of Christmas into our homes, without breaking the bank. With the help of our wonderful contributors, we will present a few quick and easy Christmas DIYs, which will add the prettiness and enjoyment of this festive season.
If you’re planning a low key celebration with rustic elements, than these folksy gift tags are just what you need for your festive gift wrapping. And you don’t even have to leave the house to get your hands on them. Just download, print and cut to size.
For most of us, the memory of Christmas, goes together with the counting off of the days leading up to the big day, mostly with the help of an advent calendar. Anelle from Seven Swans shared a beautiful Christmas tree-shaped advent calendar with us. Instead of tearing off a page or opening a chocolate after each day, she came up with the idea of love notes. Now you and your loved ones can surprise one another with quotes, wishes, or music lyrics. The reading of the notes can also be a fun activity to do together as a family at the end of each day. [KAMERS: If it is just a bit too late for Christmas, why not count off to 2014, or another special day? Or make sure you bookmark this DIY for next year!]
Sam from Elephantshoe came up with a creative idea to make the task of choosing Christmas presents easy and fun. She designed a Stocking suffer Dream List that you use to find out what your loved ones want for Christmas. You can simply print out the surveys, cut them out, and ask your friends and family to fill them in.
